Vision for The Cottages The Cottages is intended to be a village of twenty-eight (28) individual homes in a quiet, wooded setting along the 2nd Fairway of the Moores Mill Golf Club located at the corner of Moores Mill Road and Millers Point Road in Auburn, Alabama. The Cottages are particularly suited to empty-nesters or retirees who wish to downsize into a gracious home that affords quality, generous room sizes, and low maintenance while leaving outdoor yard care to the homeowners association. The Cottages are located in the very finest Auburn neighborhood with the Moores Mill Golf Club, CVS Pharmacy, and Publix Shopping just around the corner. In fact, the $10,000 membership origination fee for Moores Mill Golf Club is included with ownership at The Cottages so residents can enjoy the pool, fitness center, tennis, golf, and the award-winning dining room at the club whenever they wish. Trash collection and mail delivery will be handled in their normal fashion. Since the assocation will be managed directly by its residents, or through a designated agent, the homeowners will control the degree of services and therefore the monthly expense they want for their neighborhood. Care of the individual homes, inside and out, will still be the responsibility of individual homeowners. However, these expenses should be minimal for many years since the homes are new and use the latest methods for low maintenance and durability. Individual homeowners will still be able to plant and care for small flower and vegetable gardens, if they so choose.
Getting Started at The Cottages The process of getting things underway is very simple. Just call Mr. Compton at 334.444.8353 to arrange an initial, no-obligation consultation to learn all the details. During the course of two or three meetings, Mr. Compton will ask questions and listen carefully to your answers in order to hear and incorporate into your plan the things which are important to you. He is currently taking $2,500 refundable deposits to hold a specific lot location while floor plans and pricing are finalized to a customer's liking. In the event something is not comfortable to you, the deposit is refunded and no further obligations exist. But once the floor plan and pricing are worked to your satisfaction, Mr. Compton prepares a standard real estate purchase agreement secured by an earnest money deposit and construction is scheduled to begin according to your wishes stated in the agreement. It will take about six to seven months to construct each home. No additional money will be required from you until construction is complete and your final purchase and closing is arranged. A "ball park" estimate of pricing at The Cottages can be determined by calculating about $165 per square foot of heated space for the total sales price. That means a 2,400 sf home will be priced at approximately $395,000. Additionally, the lots shown as numbers 1, 2 and 15-20 will carry a premium of $25,000 due to thier view and proximity to the golf course. During construction, Mr. Compton and his staff will meet with you periodically to discuss colors, finishes, and various features of your specific home.
